I enjoy sharing my inspiration and creative process, however please do not copy my work. I do love the look of the these quilt edges but I can't be too sure that it is a time saving technique (as compared machine stitched binding). Also, when machine quilting, I always set my stitch length a bit longer then the machine's default setting, As I think the stitching looks nicer. My husband's grandmother made all her quilts we have without binding and our son sleeps under one she made for his dad. She would then fold it over to meet the edge of the quilt and then fold it over again to cover the raw edge of the quilt.
